To protect yourself and others from the risk of COVID-19 during any Share the Dignity activity, including but not only our Dignity Drives and It's in the Bag campaign, please ensure you are always adopting the health and safety protocols laid out by the Australian Government's health directives regarding COVID-19 and any State/Territory Government directives relevant to your local region. These directives will always take priority over any instruction or request by Share the Dignity.
We ask you to take responsibility for your health and wellbeing and to make decisions based on your own health requirements and level of comfort when it comes to your decisions to participate in Share the Dignity activities.
For those of you participating in Share the Dignity activities during COVID-19, we remind you to please:
* Adopt good hand hygiene including hand washing and hand sanitising
* Wear masks where directed to by local health guidelines/requirements, or if you choose to
* Remember to always socially distance, and to remove yourself from a situation where you cannot socially distance effectively
* Stay at home if local Government guidelines require you to stay at home or restrict how far you can travel
* Stay at home if you are unwell
* Stay at home if you do not feel comfortable participating
If you are unable to attend an activity e.g. collection or delivery you have signed up to, please advise your Queen team or Team Leader accordingly through Workplace.
Other actions you may want to take to minimise the risk of COVID-19 during your participation of Share the Dignity activities include:
* Wear gloves if you choose (including for general hand protection, not necessarily COVID reasons)
* If possible, sort bags outside or in a garage
* Use (different) old sheets or towels etc to cover the car boot area when transporting donations, and to cover the floor or tables at home where you may be storing or sorting through donations, to minimise contact of donated products with your car/home
* Clean down any surfaces in your home that the bags/contents come into contact with (both before and after)
* If convenient keep donated items for several days before sorting and/or onforwarding to charity partners, e.g. in garage
* Remember to regularly wash your hands
